In Nov. of 2011, Alexi wrote of his military experience:

The army life is ok. 53 mornings left to go. We just had a really tough week. Basically we slept in tents for 4 nights with 4 hours of sleep a night, and in the days we ran around in the field for probably 8 hours a day wearing about 50 pounds of gear, then we marched 24 kilos, wearing about 75 pounds of gear, the march took about 6.5 hours. then we slept 4 more hours, and had to stay awake for 48 hours digging trenches and attack simulations. Tomorrow we take a boat to another island and shoot 50 cal machine guns on top of armored vehicles and practice anti aircraft tactics for the next 3 days.
