1. 30-70% (depending on which study you read) of stories are drawn from PR and press releases
2. government malfeasance is ok for stories but rarely corporate malfeasance
3. "context" stories (on long-term issues such as racism or urban sprawl) are not news to be reported; nor should background info be given on short-term issues as that would "necessarily" reveal bias
