Installing Perl

Start at http://www.perl.com/pace/pub/perldocs/latest.html

Unix

Download "Perl for Unix"
You will need gunzip (GNU), a C compiler, and make to unpack, build, and install it.
HTML documentation is included.

NT

There is now only one official Perl for PCs. This is it: download ActiveState's build of Perl for Win32. Here are detailed instructions. Also, read the README file included with the download.
After installation, be sure the executable perl.exe is in your PATH.
Choose to associate .pl with the Perl interpreter.
HTML documentation is included.

Lab 0
If your machine lacks a Perl interpreter, download and install one.
